Friday 16th June: Opening Workshop with Jenny and Ricardo, 8pm - 9:30pm

8pm - 9:30pm: Tango technique for improved balance, connection and elegance. Level: Improver.

After the workshop, we have our Opening Milonga from 9:30pm - midnight, to get you into the Festival spirit!

We'll play a selection of lovely Golden Age tracks for you to get started for this fabulous weekend.

Saturday 17th June: "Tango In A Morning" with David and Ann

From 10:30am - 12:30pm, David and Ann will get you started, with an intensive double-length beginner-oriented workshop to start you on your Tango journey!

This a cut-down version of our "Tango In A Day" intensive workshops, and is ideal for new students, or for people wishing to revise and review their technique.

We will cover the following core topics in the Tango In A Morning workshop:

  • Embrace
  • Connection
  • Walk
  • Music

Saturday 17th June: Main Workshops with Jenny and Ricardo

Jenny and Ricardo will be teaching a variety of workshops during the day. This is a great opportunity to learn from the best Argentine Tango teachers in the business.

Workshops are role-balanced, and numbers are limited, so advance booking is essential.

1:30pm - 2:45pm: Workshop 1: Milonga musicality: adding fun & repertoire.
Level: Improver.

3:15pm - 4:30pm: Workshop 2: Giros for social dancing: options and ideas.
Level: Intermediate.

5pm - 6:15pm: Workshop 3: Varying tempo: barridas, stops and catches.
Level: Advanced.

Saturday 17th June: Introduction to Ballet with Clare Wille



12pm - 1pm: Introduction to Ballet (Side Hall).

Ballet teacher Clare Wille will teach an introductory Ballet class, aimed at new students, focussing on posture, control and coordination, to give grace and style to your movements.

Clare is a highly-experienced and respected ballet teacher, so this is a great chance for you to take advantage of this class on Saturday.

Saturday 17th June: Introduction to Cha-Cha with Yvonne Metcalf



1:30pm - 2:45pm Introduction to Cha-Cha (Side Hall).

Ballroom dancer extraordinaire Yvonne Metcalf will teach an introductory Cha-Cha class, aimed at new students, to give you Latin Flair in your dancing.

The Cha-Cha is one of the most popular Latin American dances. It’s lively and flirtatious, and full of passion and energy. Come along and pick up the bubbly, playful nature of this dance. Learn how to get the "short, short long"’ rhythm, and practice that Cuban hip motion, vital to all Latin dances.

Level: Beginners.

Saturday 17th June: Tango Into Kizomba with Antonio & Lisa



3:15 - 4:30pm Introduction to Kizomba (Side Hall).

Kizomba teachers Antonio Hernandez and his partner Lisa Barber will teach a workshop is suitable for improver, and intermediate level Tango dancers that are new to Kizomba. They will focus on the music, Kizomba techniques and body movement, and core steps and styling. The workshop aims to show the differences between the two dances, but also highlight areas of commonality. Antonio and Lisa are looking forward to welcoming you to the workshop.

Saturday 17th June: New2Blues with Sara White



5pm - 6:15pm New2Blues (Side Hall).

Blues Guru Sara White will teach an introductory Blues class, aimed at new students, focussing on key elements of style, expression, and musicality.

Sara is a nationally-renowned Blues teacher, and this is a fabulous opportunity to develop your skills in this area, taught by one of the very best!

Sunday 18th June: Intensive Masterclass with Jenny and Ricardo (Main Hall)

12:30pm - 3pm: From structure and technique to improvisation, creativity and play

From 12:30 - 3pm, we have an intensive double-length "Masterclass" workshop with Jenny and Ricardo. If you want to really focus on your dancing, come along and get a deep set of tuition from some of the best teachers around.

Level: Intermediate - Advanced.

Sunday 18th June: Blues Evolution Masterclass with Sara White (Side Hall)



12:30pm - 3pm: Blues Evolution (Side Hall).

Blues Guru Sara White will teach a double-length Blues masterclass, from 12:30pm - 3pm.

This workshop is for you if you’re serious about wanting to give your dancing a boost, and you are looking for drills and exercises and techniques to work on, to deepen your understanding of musicality, to liberate your more expressive side, and become the best dancer you can be.
